A local family active in Iowa’s agriculture industry will be the latest recipients of a state award. The Kurt and Heather Hora family are receiving the Gary Wergin Good Farm Neighbor Award for their farming practices and involvement in promoting the industry locally, across the state, and across the country.
Iowa Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig will present the award at the Hora farm, located north of Washington, this afternoon.
In addition to their involvement with 4-H, the county Pork Producers and Corn Growers Association, Kurt is active with the state Corn Growers Association, and Heather serves on the Iowa Pork Producers Association Board.
