A Mid-Prairie student is in the running for a national scholarship. Jonah Van Roekel was recently named one of the semifinalists for the National Merit Scholarship. Van Roekel says his PSAT score qualified him for the semifinal round. Roekel is now studying for his SAT’s, which he plans to take next month. His score on that test and his application will determine if he’s a finalist. The recipients of the $2,500 scholarship will be announced in May.
