Mid-Prairie football travels to Clear Creek Amana tonight for their second game of the season.

The Golden Hawks are 0-1 this year after their loss to Washington, but they put up some good numbers during that game.

In tough conditions to throw, Reid Miller went 10-26 with 123 yards of passing and one interception, while on the ground Miller had 11 yards and a touchdown, and the Golden Hawks were led by Austin Slabaugh and his 93 yards and a touchdown, and they still have yet to use Eessa Baylor.

On defense Slabaugh has the teams lone pick of the season, while Canaan Powell and Miller lead the team in tackles with 10, and Austin Errthum as the kicker is always a weapon Mid-Prairie can use.

CCA is 1-0 after their 44-43 win over Independence. Their quarterback Nile Rourke completed 50 percent of his passes for 131 yards an interception and two touchdowns. Andrew Beckler had 53 yards receiving and a touchdown, Aaron Akers had 44 yards, and Tanner Bandy had 31 yards and a touchdown.

The ground game of the Clippers was led by Jonathan Nzombo with 112 yards and two touchdowns and Rourke with 84 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively CCA didn’t do much, giving up 43 points despite two interceptions.
