Mid-Prairie Volleyball Looks to Make it Four in a Row Against West Liberty

The Mid-Prairie volleyball team starts off their conference season tonight against West Liberty.

The Golden Hawks are on a three game winning streak coming into the game, and are led by Taylor Kurtz in kills with 22, while Courtney Cayton has 19.

Ashley Sojka and Laura Yoder both have the tricky serves so far this year with seven aces. Courtney Shalla has 62 assists and 28 digs this season so far, but Cayton is the leader in the dig category with 35, while Kurtz has 12 blocks on the season, seven of them solo.

West Liberty won four in a row before their first loss of the season to Clear Creek Amana. They are led by Hailey Daufeldt with 26 kills, and have three more with 15 or more kills this year. Kayla Kaalberg has six aces, while Molly Kelly has seven to lead the team.

Cassedi Simon is the setter with 73 assists, she is also the top blocker with 12, and Kelly is the top defensive player with 59 digs.

This game is at West Liberty tonight with JV and Freshmen playing at 6 and varsity at 7:30.
