Operation ReLeaf will have a distribution center in Washington this month. This is a program provided by a partnership of Alliant Energy and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources for Alliant Energy customers to help save energy by planting trees that provide shade in the summer and create wind breaks during the winter. Some of the trees offered for $25 include American Elm, Sugar Maple and Black Hills Spruce. Order forms should be returned to the extension office and participants are reminded to call 811 before digging. The distribution day will be held September 26th at the fairgrounds.
