At this time four people have declared candidacy for the District 5 Washington County Board of Supervisors seat. Terry Philips is running as a Democrat for the position. Philips has been involved in the county by serving on the Historic Preservation Commission, the board of directors for WEDG, the Veteran’s Affairs Commission, the building and finance committee of public health and has been a liason for the City of Riverside for the E911 and communications board. He states that he has no agenda, and wants to see government work for the people of Washington County while representing the district.

The election will be held October 8th and Independents have until Friday to submit petitions for candidacy. At this time the other candidates include Republican Richard Young and Independents Merle Hagie and Allen Fuhr.
