An agreement was reached for soccer fields in Washington at the Washington City Council meeting Wednesday. The agreement includes the City, the YMCA and the Park Board as signatories. The estimated cost of the fields is between $30,000 and $40,000 and will be funded through a YMCA donor and possibly some park gift funds – meaning that tax payer dollars will not be used to create the fields.

At the meeting, Sid Ryan with the Washington Soccer Club stated that he and the club are looking to purchase other land to develop fields for tournaments and are no longer involved in the agreement.
