Police responded to a stabbing in Wellman Wednesday. Emily Kaye Richardson was arrested just after midnight after using a pocket knife to stab someone at 501 9th Avenue.

Washington County Attorney Larry Brock says Richardson is charged with domestic abuse assault and assault causing serious injury, a Class D Felony. As of Friday at 5pm, Richardson was still being held at the Washington County Jail. Bond is set at $10,000.

According to Washington County Safety Center call logs for that day, a caller at the same Wellman address reported her boyfriend was assaulted by two subjects, resulting in a laceration running from his armpit to his waist. He was transported to the University of Iowa Hospital.
