Today is Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Rememberance. In honor of the day, Washington firefighters raised a flag from a truck in front of the fire station this morning. Twelve years ago the twin tours of the World Trade Center in New York City were attacked by two planes a third plane crashed into the Pentagon in Washington D.C., resulting in nearly 3,000 casualties. Flags at state buildings will be flown at half-staff today in observance, as ordered by Iowa Governor Terry Branstad.
