Members of the English River Watershed Management Authority met last week. City Administrator of Kalona Ryan Schlabaugh says they learned the coalition’s first grant will be ready to expend late next month. The Department of Natural Resources grant will fund a comprehensive study of the watershed and form a management plan. The group now has six official members, and twelve other cities or counties have made commitments to join.
