Work on Wellman’s water tower may lead to some minor issues for those on the city water supply. The routine maintenance will include sandblasting and re-painting the inside of the water tower.

The work won’t affect water quality, but there may be some water discoloration and variations in pressure. The work will begin tomorrow and will take up to four weeks.

City Administrator Nick Pacha says this sort of work only needs to be done every 10 to 15 years. The cost is covered by the city’s annual contract with Utility Services, the company that maintains the water tower.
