The Washington County Auditor’s office is recommending citizens register to vote on or before October 25th to avoid delays at the polling place. Same day registration is available with proper identification. To register on election day, a voter must complete a registration application, make written oath and provide proof of identity and residence, such as an Iowa driver’s license or a U.S. passport and a utility bill. Also, those currently registered to vote in Washington County who have moved, may change their address at the polls but are encouraged to update the information prior to October 25th. Citizens can pre-register to vote or update information at the Washington County Auditor’s office in the courthouse or any driver’s license station.
