Members of the Washington County 4-H Club Bows and Bullets brought home awards from the State Shoot Match this weekend despite 30 mile per hour winds and sprinkles of rain. The State Shoot Match was held in Montezuma on Saturday and is the final competition for the 2012-2013 shooting year. Complete results and information about how to join the club are listed below.

Individual results include:
Juniors:
Joseph Dunbar – 1st in Junior Air Rifle and 1st in Junior Small Bore (.22)
Jacob Van Zante – 4th in Junior Archery Genesis bow
Jeffery Taylor – 5th in Junior Archery Compound Bow
Jacob Leonard – 7th in Junior Archery Compound Bow

Intermediates:
Richard Dunbar – 1st in Intermediate Air Rifle and 1st in Intermediate Muzzleloader
Joseph Van Zante – 3rd in Intermediate Archery Recurve Bow and 3rd in Intermediate muzzleloader.
Cody Mellinger – 4th in Intermediate Archery Recurve bow

Seniors:
Hunter Mast – 5th in Senior Shotgun Trap
Noah Altenhofen – 8th in Senior Shotgun Trap

Bows and Bullets 4-H Club is one of Washington County 4-H’s special interest clubs. Youth participate in the traditional 4-H experience with monthly meetings, county events and fair, however, they mostly focus on outdoor education through wildlife skills and shooting. They have monthly range times for youth to participate in disciplines of their choice including archery, muzzle loader and shotgun.
