The flu has been confirmed in Iowa reports the Iowa Department of Public Health. Three cases of influenza have been identified in eastern and central Iowa, all were type A – a strain that can cause serious illness. IDPH is urging Iowans over 6 monhts of age to get an annual flu vaccine. Also, people are reminded of the three Cs: cover coughs and sneezes, clean hands frequently, and contain germs by staying home when ill.
