The cause of a house fire in Washington Tuesday afternoon is still under investigation at this time. The State Fire Marshall’s Office was contacted at the time of the fire and responded to the scene. The Jonathan Beam residence on Lexington Boulevard in Washington, across from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, was ablaze at approximately 1:45 p.m. Tuesday. According to the Washington Communications Center, nobody was home at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported.
Emergency personnel from the Washington Fire Department, Kalona Fire Department, Brighton Fire Department, Ainsworth Fire Department, Washington Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
