Ghosts, witches, and goblins will be haunting Washington’s square this evening as part of the Washington Chamber’s Trick-or-Treat Around the Square. Costumes are welcomed at the free annual family-friendly Halloween event, where children can trick-or-treat at the downtown businesses, play games at the various stations in the square and families can enjoy a hay rack ride. Dani Kane, Assistant Director of the Chamber, states that last year approximately 800 kids took part in the event and they are expecting even more this year. Tonight’s festivities kick off at 5 p.m.

The Moonlight Madness also begins this evening. This is a 3-day event in which downtown businesses that take part in the Trick-or-Treat Around the Square will have special deals and discounts. Kane states that these businesses will be recognized by the special lights in their windows.
