The Columbus Junction cross country team ran at the WMU invite last night and the boy’s had their best finish of the year.

Led by the fourth, fifth and sixth place finishes by Eli Sents in 16:58, Josh Keller in 17:01 and Efrain Barajas in 17:05 the Wildcats placed third overall. The other two scoring runners were Anthony Garcia in 30th with a time of 18:49, and Tony Ramos in 42nd with a time of 19:34.

Columbus Junction finished with 87 points, while Wapello won the meet with 54.

On the girl’s side, Taylor Hills once again came through with a big run to lead the team with an eighth place finish in a time of 16:41. Other scorers for the girl’s were Ashley Canny in 25th with a time of 18:14, Grace Chapman in 28th with a time of 18:29, Claire Hamilton in 31st with a time of 18:36 and Jessica Morales in 40th with a time of 20:09.

The girls finished in fifth place with 132 points, while the winner of the meet was Mediapolis with 59.
