Columbus Junction cross country held the Mike Jay Invite yesterday, and both the girls and the boys finished fourth.

Taylor Hills was the top runner for the girls once again, but she had a couple of teammates right behind her, as Hills finished in seventh place with a time of 18:45, and Claire Hamilton was 11th in 20:09 and Ashley Canny was 12th in 20:13. Other scorers for the Wildcats were Yvette Aguilar in 18th in 20:39, and Grace Champman in 32nd in a time of 21:46.

Columbus Junction finished with 65 points, while Mediapolis won the meet with 41.

On the boy’s side, the trio of Eli Sents, Efrain Barajas and Josh Keller continue to finish together at the top of the pack, with all three in the top ten of this race.

Keller led the way this time with a fourth place finish in 17:27, Barajas was sixth in a time of 17:44 and Sents was ninth in 18:18. The other two scorers were Anthony Garcia in 30th with a time of 20:16 and Adrian Santos in 31st with a time of 20:22.

Columbus Junction finished with 80 points, while Highland won the meet with 47.

Columbus Junction will run at the conference meet on Thursday.
