The creation of an ad hoc neighbordhood pride committee was discussed at last night’s special session meeting of the Washington City Council. The committee was a recommendation from the Housing Task Force, which suggested forming a group similar to the Tree Committee, that focuses on cleaning up Washington with volunteer efforts in a respectful way in an effort to improve the city. The council directed City Administrator Brent Hinson to draft a resolution to create such a committee to be considered at the next city council meeting.
