Due to the partial government shutdown, a crop progress report is not available this week announced Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey. According to estimates from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach field agronomists, the soybean harvest in Iowa is 29-percent complete as of Thursday morning.

According to harvest reports from the Iowa Soybean Association, in Washington County, a 92-acre soybean field planted on May 21 averaged 45 bushels per acre and corn-on-corn is yielding 40 bushels less per acre than corn after soybeans. Corn yields in the area are ranging from 100 to 235 bushels per acre.
