The Washington volleyball team played a tough Mt. Pleasant team who has only lost four games all year, and last night they show them why, sweeping Washington.

The Demons came out tough, keeping the game within reach, but lost game one 25-17. Mt. Pleasant won game two handedly 25-15 and in set three the Panthers had match point at 24-9, but Washington made a rally and Mt. Pleasant made some mistakes which let the Demons get to 24-16 before they put down the final kill for the 25-16 score and the win.

Demon head coach Julianna Berg said her team may not have won the game, but the improvement of her team has come a long way.

“What I have to give credit to my players for is that they just never give up, and it is so hard to beat a team that never gives up, and they are out there going after every ball, even if they think, ‘There is no way that I can get to that ball,’ they are still out there going after it, and they make huge amazing plays that we wouldn’t have made a month ago, so I’m really proud of that,” Berg said.

The Demons host their own volleyball tournament on Saturday.
