Flu Activity Remains Sporadic in Iowa

Iowa’s influenza activity remains sporadic according to the Iowa Influenza Surveillance Network’s weekly report. One case of influenza B was confirmed by the State Hygenic Lab and there was one infection of influenza A H3N2 reported, the patient had been in contact with swine in the preceding week and the patient has fully recovered. This was the 19th variant case of H3N2 reported in the country this year. While Iowa has minimal influenza-like illness activity, one state, Texas, has a low activity.
