Gardeners Preparing for Winter

Now’s the time to inspect your gardens, and clean it up, before winter arrives. Master Gardener Kay Ciha says she checks her perennials for insects and diseases before it gets too cold. She says some plants, such as her irises, need to be trimmed. And certain plants, like hosta, she lets die and go through a hard freeze, before coming back in February to cut it back.
