The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved two grant applications to the Washington County Riverboat Foundation at their meeting yesterday. One application is from Washington County Secondary Roads for approximately $161,000 for a new motor grader, the county would provide nearly $80,000 in matching funds. Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius said that the equipment would improve the condition of the secondary roads in the county because they are used to maintain gravel roads by blading in the warm months and work on snow and ice removal in the winter.

The second grant application is for playground expansion and improvement for HACAP, which would provide the matching monies.
