The Washington Chamber’s annual Halloween event, Trick-or-Treat Around the Square, is two weeks from today and the Chamber is seeking volunteers for the family friendly event. The event kicks off at 5 p.m. and there will be trick-or-treating at downtown businesses, free games, hay rides, a bounce house and a costume party at JP’s 207 from 6 to 8 p.m. for Junior and Senior High Students. Assistant Director of the Chamber, Dani Kane, says there was an increase in the number of participants last year with 800 children involved and they expect another increase this year with the added activities.

She adds that the retailers enjoy the event and this year they are adding Moonlight Madness, where retailers will have specials October 30th, 31st and November 1st from 5 to 8 p.m. To volunteer with the Halloween event contact the Washington Chamber of Commerce.
