Heating Assistance Applications Accepted Soon

The Iowa Utilities Board is reminding eligible Iowans that the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program and the Home Weatherization Program which protect against energy utility disconnection and aid in heating costs this winter begin November 1st. Applications will be accepted on a first come/first served basis and the Washington County location is Orchard Hill HACAP on Lexington Boulevard. Households with disabled or elderly persons over the age of 60 may apply for pre-certification. The program assists consumers by covering a portion of their winter heating costs through April 1st.
