A field trip taken recently by a local 5th grade class would not be possible this week.Due to the federal government shutdown, the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site is closed. Lincoln Elementary School Teacher Ross Anderson took his 5th grade class to the site in West Branch last week. He’s glad they were able to visit before the shutdown. He says the trip provides an educational experience students wouldn’t be able to have otherwise. The site, managed by the National Park Service, features the president’s boyhood home and the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum.
