The Demon cross country team held their home invite last night and here are the results for Washington and the other area schools.

In the girl’s race for Washington, they were led by Emme Keith who finished eighth place in 17:34. Other scorers for the Demons were Mariah Howard in 18th with a time of 18:50; Stephanie Loy in 26th with a time of 19:55;Morgan Kimball finished 27th with a time of 20:01 and Stephanie Fishback was 40th with a time of 20:56.

Washington finished fourth with 119 points, while Ft. Madison won the meet with 35 and Keota was sixth with 245 points.

Top runner for Keota was Sierra Lyle who finished 47th in a time of 21:57. Also at the meet was Highland who did not have enough runners for a team score, but their top runner was Morgan Welsh who finished 24th in a time of 19:38.

On the boy’s side Highland’s Evan Mahler won the meet in a time of 16:56, while his teammate Keiffer Sexton was third in a time of 17:19. Highland also got a 11th place finish by Josh Brase and a 16th place finish by Caleb Brase to help them in the standings, finishing third as a team with 52 points, while Marion won the meet with 38 and Washington was sixth.

The Demons top runner was Curtis Vest who finished 18th with a time of 18:46. Other Demon scorers were; Owen Horak in 34th with a time of 20:24, Austin Latchem in 36th in a time of 20:38; Jiovanni Tapia in 43rd in a time of 21:15 and rounding out the scoring runners was Jarek Brown in 45th in a time of 21:24.

Keota was also at the meet, but did not have enough runners for a team score, their top runner was Grant Hill in 70th with a time of 24:06.

Washington cross country is back in action on Monday at IMS.
