Keota residents could see a sewer rate increase in December. The first reading of an ordinance amendment increasing the $12 minimum rate by four dollars was held at Monday’s City Council meeting. If the 2nd and 3rd readings are held as scheduled, residents will see the change on their December bill. City Clerk Niki Osweiler says, with the current rate, they’re breaking even, so this increase will allow them to set aside funds for future projects.
