A motion has been made by the prosecution to try a Libertyville juvenile, suspected in the death of an infant, in adult court. The motion was filed yesterday. The 15-year-old female is charged as a juvenile with Child Endangerment Resulting in Death. If the court decides to approve the motion, it would mean the female faces a class B felony, punishable by up to 50 years in prison.
According to Jefferson County Attorney, Timothy Dille, the timeline of the events leading up to and following the death of the infant on October 10th is unclear. Dille says the 15-year-old’s mother was not home at the time of the birth and it isn’t believed the girl’s step father was present.Authorities found the infant in a closet at their residence on October 11th.
