Share-a-Calf Applications Now Available

Posted: Thursday, October 24th, 2013 at 6:22 am

Applications for the Washington County Share-a-Calf program with 4-H are now available. This program allows 4-H’ers to partner with Washington County Cattlemen to get a calf in December and then show the calf at the county fair in the summer against others in the Share-a-Calf program. The program provides 4-H’ers or FFA members with a calf and they do not have to pay for it until the calf is sold after the county fair. Also, the working relationship with the cattlemen provides points of reference regarding feeding, breeding and grooming questions.

All Washington County 4-H’ers and FFA members are eligible to apply; applications are due by November 15th to the Washington County Extension Office.

The applications can be found at the office or online – click here.
