Pheasant Season Opens in Iowa

Iowa’s pheasant season opens tomorrow. According to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, hunters will find the best bird numbers in northwest, north central and central Iowa. The Iowa DNR reports that based on results of Iowa’s upland game survey, hunters are expected to harvest 100,000 to 150,000 pheasants during the season, which runs from October 26th to January 10th. Also, pheasant hunters are remineded to wear blaze orange and to unload guns when crossing fences to avoid accidental discharging.
