A workshop about solar energy panels being used on livestock or commercial buildings is being held today in Washington. Ed Raber Director of the Washington Economic Development Group explains that the event is being held to help area farmers and business owners decide if solar energy is something they wish to pursue because many of the rebates expire at the end of the year. Area farmers who have placed panels on their facilities, as well as representatives with Alliant Energy, the USDA and the Iowa Energy Center will speak.

The workshop has been moved from the KC Hall to the Washington County Fairgrounds 4-H building and is now being held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information contact Ed Raber with WEDG, at (319) 653-3942 or wedg@washingtoniowa.org
