A forum was hosted by the Washington Chamber of Commerce last night with the candidates for city positions invited to speak. Following the uncontested candidates’ opening statements, incumbent Merle Hagie and challenger Lyn Thomas took the stage for a question and answer session. The two are vying for the At-Large seat, as is Kathryn Salazar who was unable to attend due to work. Bob Schlegel read a perpared statement to the group. Thomas and Hagie discussed challenges and opportunities facing Washington, the comprehensive plan, rental housing inspections and water system issues, among many other topics.

The election is a week from today, Tuesday, November 5th.
