A webinar about watershed planning and conservation practices will be held next week by the Iowa Learning Farms in partnership with ISU and the Iowa Department of Agirculture and Land Stewardship. Mark Tomer, research soil scientist at the National Laboratory for Agriculture and the Environment, will be presenting the free program and discussing watershed planning with computerized mapping tools to help improve water quality and different types of conservation practices.

Recently, the English River Watershed Management Authority, which includes Kalona, recently received a grant for a comprehensive study to form a management plan.

If the federal government is shut down the webinar will still be held but with a different speaker.
