The goal of a fundraising effort in Wayland is close to being reached. The Wayland Central Park “Fit 4 Fun” Project began this summer to raise money to update the park. Bev Conrad, with the City of Wayland, says the new equipment is installed and is in use at Central Park. She adds they’re around $3,000 short of the project’s $35,000 cost, and will continue to accept donations. The fundraising committee has collected $23,000 so far, the city has contributed $4,000, and $5,000 of the project’s funding comes from a Enhance Henry County Community Foundation grant.
