The Winfield- Mt. Union volleyball team walked off the court in their final regular season match with a win last night over Wapello.

The Wolves swept Wapello 25-17, 25-19 and 25-15, making this their ninth win in 10 games.

Getting the kills were Erica Robinson with 11 and Shelby Therme with eight. Taylor Rodgers had 15 assists and Robinson also led the team in digs with nine.

WMU head coach Dave Pieart said their game last night was very close to perfect.

“I thought we did well last night, we’ve been struggling a little bit with our consistency, and last night I thought we did a really good job, offensively, defensively, blocking, block coverage, I really can’t point our a weakness that we had last night,” Pieart said. “In terms of momentum this is nine out of the last 10 that we’ve won, so that does give us a good run coming into the playoffs here.”

The Wolves now have two weeks off before their next match, which is the regional tournament against the winner of Keota and Sigourney.
