Caption Telephone, also known as CapTel, is offered to Iowans with a hearing loss and provides a phone that shows captions of what people are saying on the phone, so Iowans can better undertand and more easily converse over the phone. Lori Sporrer with Relay Iowa explains that the service is funded by the Americans With Disabilities Act and is a free service through the state relay program.
