Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program agencies, such as HACAP in Washington, are now accepting applications for the upcoming heating season. The program helps low to moderate-income households pay winter heating bills. The payments depend on the income level and size of the household, as well as the home energy costs.
According to Alliant Energy, in Iowa, family of four for example that earns less than $35,325 annually or a two-person family that earns less than $23,265 annually may qualify for energy assistance dollars. To apply for the program contact HACAP Orchard Hill in Washington.
