Kalona city staff will meet with property owners in the near future to discuss the extension of sanitary sewer lines. The city was approached by one of the business owners east of the City Park on the south side of Highway 22 about extending the service to that area. At Monday’s meeting, the City Council directed staff to set up meetings with the 6 property owners to gauge their interest and support of the project.

City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh says the project is justifiable, as the area has potential for industrial growth.
