Four Area Athletes Names All-State for Volleyball

The All-State volleyball teams have been announced for the year, and the area has four players that made the list.

Casey Perez of IMS made the second team All-State for class 1A. Perez had 619 assists on the year as a setter, and added 278 digs and 139 kills to her totals.

On third team All-State for class 1A Is Sigourney’s Jordan Carter. Carter had 355 kills on the year to lead her team; she also had 52 aces, 207 digs and 41 blocks.

Sigourney head coach Chris Carter said Jordan worked very hard to earn such a great recognition.

“Out of a class of some really good 1A schools and players I feel very fortunate that [Jordan Carter] was part of the top 24 kids in 1A,” Carter said.

Also on the third team is Olivia Yutzy of IMS who had 414 kills and 36 blocks on the season, and Erica Robinson of WMU who had 269 kills, 35 aces and 51 blocks.
