The corn and soybean harvest in southeast Iowa is nearly complete. According to this week’s USDA Crop Report, the corn harvest is around 90% done, ahead of the rest of the state and the five year average. About 5% of this year’s soybean crop still needs to be harvested. Meanwhile, rainfall is helping fields in the area slowly recover moisture lost during the ongoing drought. The majority of area fields remain short or very short on moisture.
