Iowa Mennonite Takes on Janesville in 1A Sub-State Volleyball

The IMS volleyball team looks to make a trip to the state tournament, as they play in the sub-state championship tonight.

IMS drew 34-4 Janesville tonight, a team that is right behind Holy Trinity Catholic as far as statistical dominance goes.

IMS is 26-9 this year winning in sweeps through the whole tournament, they are led by Olivia Yutzy with 411 kills, while Casey Perez assists with 612 and Kristin Davis keeps the ball alive with 351 digs.

Janesville has lost twice to Dike-New Hartford, and once to Cedar Falls and Wapsie Valley, and have also swept through the entire tournament.

The Wildcats have three hitters with 210 kills or more with Anna Backstrom, Sylvia Amlie and Kendyl Sorge. Their setter is Brittney Hanson with 932 assists and Destiny Christopher digs it up with 323 digs on the season.

Janesville and IMS play tonight at Center Point-Urbana with first serve at 7 P.M.
