A Riverside resident is sponsoring a Christmas light competition. Mike Meinders says if someone living within a mile of Riverside wants to sign up, they need to do so in the next few days. There are five categories, most innovative, best community display, most patriotic, and best Griswold, a reference to the movie Christmas Vacation. Meinders adds, to avoid favoritism, none of the judges in the contest are from the city. Winners will be announced at the December 16th city council meeting.
