Salazar Wins At-Large Seat

The City of Washington’s only contested race yesterday was for the At-Large City Council seat. Kathryn Salazar won the election with 260 votes. Incumbent Merle Hagie had 139 votes and Lyn Thomas received 102 votes.

Sandra Johnson ran unopposed and will continue to be the mayor of Washington, she received 336 votes, and there were 89 write-in votes cast for the race.

In addition to Salazar, another new face will be added to the Washington City Council, Jaron Rosien will be representing Ward 4.
