Kalona residents looking to get rid of their Christmas tree will have an opportunity to do so next week. On Monday, Johnson County Refuse will pick up trees placed near the curb. They ask that residents make sure they’ve removed the tree stand, lights and ornaments. Also, do not put the tree in a bag. Trees will be picked up in other cities that Johnson County Refuse serves, like Riverside and Lone Tree.
