The Washington Demon girl’s basketball team are a couple of free throws away from being undefeated after the first half of the season, but the second half will be a grind.

The Demons kick off the second half with Ft. Madison and Mt. Pleasant, and while Ft. Madison may not be in the chase for the conference title currently, the game against Mt. Pleasant will be each teams first against each other, and should be a quality rivalry game.

Washington is on a four game winning streak dating back to before the break, and head coach Phil Long said the start of the second half will really determine a lot of things, and that he is happy they start at home.

“I said before this season started that this conference race is up for grabs, and you definitely have defend home court and win all of your games at home and at least half of them on the road to have a fighting chance to win a conference title, and I guess I am lucky that both of those games are at home to start the second half of the conference season,” Long said.

Washington opens up play again on Friday January 3rd when they travel to Davis County for an our of conference game.
