The Washington County ISU Extension and Outreach office has announced an addition to its staff. Karen Bates Chabal is the new office assistant, working with all Washington County Extension and 4-H programs. She is originally from Washington and has previously worked for Iowa Wesleyan College and the Kalona Historical Society and Chamber of Commerce, most recently she coordinated the Henry County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program for adults. Bates Chabal replaces Michele Sieren, who accepted a position at the County Youth Coordinator with Keokuk County Extension.
