Thursday night the Mid-Prairie wrestling team turned a long bus ride to Cascade into a business trip, sweeping a River Valley Conference Triangular meet. Mid-Prairie matched up first with their hosts and made quick work of the Cougars 51-24. Mid-Prairie only dropped two contested matches in the dual while recording four falls and another win by decision. Scoring falls for the Hawks were Duncan McCain at 106, Josh Murphy at 113, Miguel Sanchez at 160 and Eesaa Baylor at 182.

In the second dual of the night Mid-Prairie took out Monticello 39-33. Mid-Prairie built an early 9-0 lead behind a forfeit at 106 and a Josh Murphy 8-1 win at 113. A forfeit and pin gave the Panthers the lead at 12-9 before the Hawks took it back with a forfeit at 132 to make it 15-12. The see-saw continued with Monticello taking forfeits at 138 and 145. Down 24-15 the Mid-Prairie upper weights went to work with Visouth Peterschmidt posting a fall at 152. Miguel Sanchez tied the team score at 24 with a hard fought 4-3 decision at 160.

Mid-Prairie would take control of the lead at 170 with Cameron Tolander scoring a 7-3 decision. Eesaa Baylor added pressure to Monticello with his pin at 182 running the team score to 33-24. A Monticello forfeit at 195 put the dual out of reach. With the sweep Mid-Prairie is now 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the River Valley Conference. The Hawks will wrestle at the Mt. Vernon tournament on Saturday.
