The IMS girl’s basketball team grabbed a come from behind win over Highland last night, and ended up running away with the game.

The Huskies had a 20-8 lead after the first quarter, before IMS came back and outscored Highland in every other quarter to get the 64-54 win.

IMS was still down by quite a bit at the half, despite outscoring Highland, the score was 34-27 Highland. In the third quarter IMS really opened up their offense grabbing the lead from Highland 42- 41. Then in the fourth quarter IMS once again outscored the Huskies and took the final 64-54 win.

Highland head coach Jodi Fink said identifying shots, communicating and losing mental focus was his teams downfall last night.

Highland was led by Samantha Dutton who had 24 points on the night, while Cheyanne Adamson assisted with 14 points and four rebounds.

IMS was led by Kristin Davis who had a 23 point night for IMS including seven three-pointers, and Olivia Yutzy had 22 points for IMS to help lead the comeback charge.

IMS head coach Aaron Gingerich said his team showed a lot of toughness last night and was happy with how they hung around.

Highland falls to 2-1 and plays Columbus Junction on Friday, while IMS improves to 1-1 and plays Lone Tree on Friday.
